Dialogue with the city of Assisi, inextricably linked to the memory and work of St. Francis, always arouses particular emotions . The initiative designed by the Magna Grecia Lauria was immediately greeted with enthusiasm by the Bishop of Tursi – Lagonegro Bishop Francis Nolen and the pastor of St. James Church in lauria Don Franco Alagia . The idea is always linked to the Cardinal Brancati and his being the protagonist of his time. It ‘ really amazing how many “tracks” the friar lauriota are around Italy (there are also hints in Sassari ! ) . At Assisi, Friar Lawrence was the father guardian for two years. This permanence , as well as a push approfodimento in Umbria, has led to an opportunity : why not ” arriccchire ” Palace Marangoni of an olive tree in Assisi ? The act extraordinarily symbolic is linked to a brotherhood that ideally Brancati suggests centuries later . The visit to Assisi will be completed by November next , an olive tree blessed by the friars of Assisi in the presence of the bishop, the pastor of the association and is subsequently transported to Lauria and dwelt in the courtyard of Palazzo Marangoni . This will be the first time for a renewed bond between Assisi and Lauria . The association has further initiatives in Serbia against the backdrop of the Franciscan order .
