Giacomo Carlomagno was born in Castelluccio Inferiore in Province of Potenza in 1969 , the country jealously guarded among his childhood memories. Fascinated since childhood by the creativeand prone to the study of art in general and architecture in particular , he studied the technical studies and attended the University Federico II of Naples, where he obtained a degree in Architecture . Lives and works in Lauria (PZ ) where private practice in building design and interior architecture , not to mention a passion for photography.
Between the photographer in his spare time and full-time architect , he has emerged as the photograph with regard to the search for original compositions , such as the interpretation of form and space through the light. The fruitful collaboration with national and local newspapers has helped to develop a new path of research on the aesthetic value of the image , challenging social conventions and refusing approval . Convert image to the poetics of the Basilicata region has allowed the publication and exhibition of works at the Civic Gallery of the Municipality of power on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts.
Afterwards, a series of exhibitions , including the 2012 ” Sacred Minimum Urban ” , held at the Cathedral Church of St. Nicholas in Bari Lauria , whose photos are fragments of local sanctity , being able to devote a close relationship between photography and religious dimension , due to a form of challenge that the practice fotog Rafica throws herself and her ability to translate the invisible.
2013 has met with broad approval work about conceptual and performative ” Places of the Soul ” , staged thanks to the collaboration of the theater company The Friends of the Theatre of Lauria, in an alchemy of music, theater and photography. They are extroverted architectural visions in the folds of the urban space that interact with the human presence in the feminine, the same that penetrates in a metaphysics for it embodies their own beauty. Between that year and 2014 the branch network of volunteer Lagonegrese Pollino with the support of the Foundation with the South has promoted the photo exhibition “Our North , Our Europe ” – Young people working to design a European – highlighting important issues and close the real problems of young people. For the educational and cultural value , the exhibition was held in the municipalities of Lauria, Nemoli , Roundabout, Viggianello , Latrobe , Lagonegro , Maratea and at higher education institutions .
